Kanyakumari District
Kanyakumari shares it names with the town of Kanyakumari, formerly known as Cape Comorin, which is at the tip of the Indian Peninsula and faces the Indian Ocean, but the administrative capital is Nagercoil. The district is also known as "The District of Ponds" or "The Lands End."
